STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — Have you ever heard of rampage rooms -- or "break rooms"?
They're businesses that offer a unique and fun way to let out your anger and frustrations.
The hot new trend is all the rage.
Rampage rooms are opening all across the nation and one opened Friday at the Nittany Mall in State College.
The basis behind it is the therapeutic benefits of releasing emotions -- anger, aggravation, anxiety and sadness -- through physical activity.
"Our break rooms allow for individuals to release stress and it also is a heck of a workout breaking items for a long period of time," says Kevin Snyder, Rampage Room’s general manager.
Customers can feel the rush of smashing something while in a safe, controlled environment.
"A big reason that individuals are drawn to this type of activity is because this allows individuals to come in, take out all their rage and it helps get rid of the daily stress of life," Snyder says.
Rampage Room allows you to work out the anger and have a slamming good time while doing so.
Better yet, you don't have to clean up the mess after.
Customers 18 and older can book a session, choose their tool of destruction and de-stress by demolishing vacuums, fax machines, tapes, furniture, dishes, glass -- if you can name it, you can break it.
“This break room is unique due to the fact that not only do we offer the break rooms that you may come in and smash stuff but we also offer virtual reality,” says Snyder. “We have four virtual reality stations in the front of our store. Along with those we have an escape, a multiplayer game room, in the back."
