Local author Jared Frederick’s friendship with John Homan, a World War II bomber pilot and distinguished Flying Cross recipient, turned into the 100-year-old recounting the numerous bombing missions that he and his crew flew over Europe during the war.

Eighty years later, he still talks about the memories that he has of his crew members with a glint in his eye.

Frederick, knowing how important it is to preserve history through the eyes of those who have lived it, convinced Homan to tell his story, in long form, to help provide lessons for future generations.

You can catch a live presentation of Mr. Homan’s story on Friday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Pennsylvania Military Museum.

Both he and Frederick will be on hand to discuss the book with the audience and to sign it for anyone who purchases a copy.

The event is free and open to the public.
