Billing dispute between State College Borough, local sewer authority expected to go to court
State College, PA (WJAC) — Now to the latest on a dispute between State College Borough and the largest wastewater treatment authority in the Centre region.
The dispute may be heading to court this year over a disagreement over the borough's payments to the authority.
UAJA is the University Area Joint Authority and State College Borough is among its more than 14,000 customers for wastewater treatment or water recycling services.

Young entrepreneur to carry on quilting tradition in historic Bedford building
Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — A local business entrepreneur is making plans to "carry on the tradition" of a Bedford County quilt shop by opening her own sewing and quilting business inside the historic building.
According to a press release from the Bedford County Development Association, Taylor Wahl, a senior business major at Saint Vincent College, is planning to make the historic Hofius House the home of her new sewing business.
Altoona man charged for role in DUI crash that killed passenger
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Blair County say an Altoona man was arraigned last week on charges related to a deadly DUI crash that occurred last March.
Police say on the night of March 16, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Broad Avenue Alley for reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Authorities say the driver, later identified as 43-year-old William Tremmel, had reportedly crashed into a concrete barrier located in the alleyway.
Columbia University cancels commencement ceremonies after weeks of protests

The university-wide ceremony was scheduled for May 15.

Philipsburg man charged with rape after sexually assaulting child, police say
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A Philipsburg man is facing sexual assault charges after forcing a child to perform sex acts with him Oct. 15, police say.
According to a criminal complaint, David Heck, 18, was spotted by two witnesses in the woods naked with the child.
Police said the witnesses noticed Heck was masturbating over the child and asked what they were doing.
According to the criminal complaint, Heck said they would leave, and when the witnesses noticed Heck was with a child, they called police and followed them out of the woods.
