Man dead after officer-involved shooting in Roaring Spring
ROARING SPRING, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE: According to police, the man who died in an officer-involved shooting Friday has been identified.
State police said in a release that 49-year-old Todd Messner from Three Springs died after police say he turned toward officers while displaying a firearm, resulting in police action. An autopsy is being completed Saturday and police say more information will be released when it becomes available. PA priest accused of stealing $40K from church; using money to play games on his phone
South Coventry, PA — A Pennsylvania catholic priest is accused of stealing $40,000 from a Chester County parish and using that money to play games on his cell phone.
Police say Lawrence Kozak has been charged with theft and other related crimes.
Authorities say he reportedly racked up tens of thousands of dollars in expenses over three years and used some of that cash to play cell phone games like Candy Crush Saga and Pokémon Go.
PSP IDs suspect who shot, wounded trooper in Northumberland County
2nd UPDATE |State police have released the identity of the suspect who shot and wounded a Pennsylvania State Trooper Wednesday morning in Northumberland County.
Police say charges have been filed against 19-year-old Hunter Shaheen, who was also shot during the exchange of gunfire.
Authorities say Shaheen is now listed in stable condition.
The wounded trooper, whose identity is not yet known, has since been released from the hospital.
State police say all individuals involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
BLM activist pleads no contest in 2020 Bedford Co. shooting
UPDATE | Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — A Black Lives Matter activist has pleaded no contest to his role in a shooting during a protest march through Bedford County in August of 2020.
Orsino Thurman, who failed to appear in court on Tuesday for jury selection, arrived late to court on Wednesday prior to the plea deal being completed.
Officials say Thurman was out on bond prior to Tuesday's scheduled jury selection.
Centre County cemetery to honor fallen veterans on Memorial Day
Volunteers for the Union Cemetery in Bellefonte are preparing to honor fallen veterans this Memorial Day.
They spent part of their Thursday at the Brockerhoff House making approximately 30 wreaths that will be placed on veterans’ gravestones ahead of Memorial Day.
Those veterans died in the line of duty.
They plan on laying the wreaths this coming Tuesday morning.
Volunteers said it's very important for all of us to honor and remember those who fought for our freedom.

Rep. Christopher Smith wins reelection to NJ's 4th Congressional District
WJAC-TV anchor Marty Radovanic retiring after 43 years
JOHNSTOWN - Longtime television news anchor Marty Radovanic has announced his retirement.
He has been with WJAC-TV for more than 43 years.
Radovanic started his career at the station in 1974 as a staff announcer and got his on-air reporting break when he covered the 1977 Johnstown Flood.
“I wanted to go out and help tell that story,” he said during a special broadcast this summer on the 40th anniversary of the flood.

At that time, it was the first time since 1984 that college teammates went 1 and 2 respectively in the draft. Those teammates were defensive lineman Courtney Brown (Cleveland Browns) and LaVar Arrington (Washington Redskins). It was the first and only time in program history that Penn State was represented with the first two picks in the same draft.
