State Department budget hearing disrupted by protesters calling Blinken a 'war criminal'
WASHINGTON (TND) — A beleaguered Secretary of State Anthony Blinken not only faced grilling from Republicans during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing Tuesday but also faced a gauntlet of anti-war protesters with even harsher words.
At least four individuals were removed from the committee chamber, which was holding a hearing with Blinken to discuss the fiscal year 2025 budget request for the State Department, during the first 10 minutes of the proceedings.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — It's common knowledge that parrots are great at mimicking human communication and everyday sounds.
But a new study published by a local college professor in Cambria County is looking beyond what 'Polly' says.
Dr. Christine Dahlin is an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown who studies animal behavior.
Her house is also home to Yoko, a 22-year-old energetic male cockatoo who loves to repeat new words and phrases.
Gerad Parker Hired as Penn State Wide Receivers Coach
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WJAC) — Penn State Football Head Coach James Franklin announced the addition of Gerad Parker to the coaching staff as the wide receivers coach. Parker joins the Nittany Lions after a two-year stint at Duke University where he most recently served as the wide receivers coach for the 2018 season.
“We are excited to add Gerad to our staff,” Franklin said. “He has a comprehensive background and knows the Big Ten.
Greater Johnstown Elementary School celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday all week long
JOHNSTOWN - Many schools throughout the Johnstown are celebrating Dr. Seuss’ 109th birthday today.
However, Greater Johnstown Elementary School decided to celebrate it throughout the whole week.
Quinn Komar, a fourth-grader at the Greater Johnstown Elementary School, and her classmates are celebrating by reading Dr. Seuss’ books and dressing up according to the themes of his stories.
“Dr. Seuss is very fun, he likes to rhyme and he's goofy and other authors are not like him,” Quinn says.
Iowa tornado kills multiple people as severe storms rip through Midwest
GREENFIELD, Iowa (KGAN) — Multiple people were killed on Tuesday when atornado ripped through Greenfield, Iowa, destroying homes, twisting wind turbines to the ground and splintering trees in a storm system that tore through the Midwest.
Much of Greenfield was destroyed in the tornado that also damaged the small town's hospital, forcing emergency responders to take people who were injured to other facilities. “Sadly we can confirm that there have been fatalities,” Iowa State Patrol Sgt.

Woman charged following investigation into 'extreme cat hoarding' in Cambria Co.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say charges have been filed against a Cambria County woman accused of hoarding nearly 60 cats.
On March 11th, 58 cats were removed from 67-year-old Karen Turgeon’s Krayn Road home in Adams Township.
Police say the cats were found locked in a small bedroom and were covered in urine and feces.
Police say that almost all of the cats were also severely matted and required veterinary care.
'Tech savvy' Cresson man admits to viewing, selling child porn images on Twitter, PSP says
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say a Cresson man is facing charges following a months-long child pornography investigation that spanned multiple states.
According to the affidavit, investigators were first contacted after officers with the Tampa Police Department discovered an Internet Dropbox containing multiple files of suspected child pornography.
Police say the images and videos, 8 in total, all depicted young boys engaging in various sexual acts.
