JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — Choices Clinical Counseling in Johnstown celebrated the opening of its new location on Bedford Street Thursday morning.
The facility provides outpatient counseling services to those with depression, anxiety, trauma and other mental health challenges.
Because of the pandemic, staff says almost 90% of counseling sessions are being held through Zoom video calls.

Over 30 malnourished dogs rescued from Texas property by sheriff's department
POTEET, Texas (WOAI/KABB) — Police in Texas removed over 30 malnourished dogs Wednesday from a property just north of Poteet.
The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office hosted a news conference at the property where several dogs were visibly chained in place, living amongst trash.
Atascosa County Sheriff Henry Dominguez said that after a report of animal abuse at the property, officers investigated the property and obtained a warrant to seize the dogs.
Suspect sought after Giant Eagle robbery
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Police are searching for a man they believe robbed a Giant Eagle in Johnstown.
Johnstown police responded to the supermarket along Broad Street and Fairfield Avenue just before 2 p.m. Monday. Police said a man walked up to a cashier, placed something against his back and demanded all the $20 bills in the register.
Officers said the suspect is a white man with a beard. He was wearing a navy jacket, black hat and jeans at the time of the robbery.
21-year-old man died of multiple gunshot wounds in deadly Moxham shooting, officials say
JOHNSTOWN – Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said that 21-year-old Kareem Lee Brandon died of multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday night in the Moxham section of Johnstown.
Lees ruled the death a homicide during a Thursday afternoon news conference, the first of 2017 in Johnstown.
Authorities said they have no motive or suspects, although acting Johnstown police Capt. Jeff Janciga said two people were interviewed after the shooting.

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Three people are dead after flash flooding in Pennsylvania.
The Bucks County Coroner confirmed three adults, two women and one man, were found dead outside of several vehicles in Upper Makefield Township.
Four other people are still missing, including a 9-month-old. The eldest of the four is a 62-year-old. Officials said they are actively searching.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The "Battle of the Ballots" is heating up in Centre County, where close to 100 primary election ballots remain under review.
The county election board contends that the group challenging the validity of the ballots filed their court suit "too late."
In review, 95 mail-in ballots from April’s primary election were flagged with possible problems on how they were dated or not dated.
The county election board decided to include the ballots in the final count, but before they were certified, a court suit was filed, claiming the ballots shouldn't be counted due to the dating errors.

Police arrest robbery suspect in Ferndale
JOHNSTOWN - Ferndale police have arrested a man in connection to a series of robberies.
Police were notified a person matching the robbery suspect’s identity was walking down the street on Thursday evening.
That’s when Ferndale police apprehended Leonard Louchart.
East Taylor Township believed Louchart robbed the Martin General store on William Penn Avenue on Tuesday.
Johnstown police said they believe he also robbed the Subway restaurant in Johnstown and the Family Dollar store on Wednesday night.
Robertsdale man charged with nearly 1K counts of child porn; saved AI images of sex abuse
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a Huntingdon County man is facing more the 950 child pornography-related charges following a state police investigation.
According to the affidavit, in August, police served a search warrant on 55-year-old Barry Julian Sr.’s Wood Township home and seized dozens of devices.
Troopers began investigating Julian following accusations that he and a relative had sexually abused a female juvenile.
Investigators say troopers later spoke to the relative, who denied the accusations and claimed that Julien had various sexually explicit images stored on his devices, including images of his own female relatives.
Altoona library to temporarily close due to water damage
ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Altoona Area public library say that the facility will be temporarily closed after the ground floor suffered recent water damage.
Customers are asked not to return any rented materials at this time and due dates have been extended through Feb. 1, with no fines.
Staff says that the the Youth Room collection has also been transported off-site and will be temporarily unavailable.
