Report tells Florida how artificial intelligence can carefully streamline and modernize
(TCS) — A report on artificial intelligence provides guidance on how Florida policymakers can best deal with this emerging technology.
The James Madison Institute released Bringing Government Into the 21st Century: Artificial Intelligence and State Government Operations this month and the report says that it is often thought that AI is a new technology, when it has been around for some time in many ways.
The report outlines several ways lawmakers can use this technology to streamline and modernize state government operations and help deliver better services.
Tomlin abruptly leaves press conference when asked about his contract
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers’ latest one-and-done playoff appearance is raising questions about Mike Tomlin’s future.
The NFL’s longest tenured coach was in no mood to talk about it Monday night.
Tomlin walked off the podium at his postgame news conference following a 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills when a reporter began with, “Mike, you have a year left on your contract.”
The abrupt exit only heightened speculation about what’s next for Tomlin and the Steelers.
Last minute 'touch-ups' underway at new baseball field ahead of Bellefonte home opener
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — Last minute “touch-ups” are underway at the John Montgomery Ward Field at Governor’s Park in Bellefonte, in anticipation of the high school varsity baseball home opener on Tuesday.
After several months, the project's nearing completion. Wednesday saw the Bellefonte varsity baseball team practice on the new field for the first time.
The project also bringing along new dugouts, a new press box, new fencing along the first and third base sidelines, and a new drainage system.
Man accused of robbing DoorDash driver in Altoona
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a man is behind bars in Blair County after he allegedly robbed a delivery driver earlier this week.
Police say just after 2 a.m. Tuesday, 29-year-old Jesus Figueroa allegedly robbed a DoorDash driver on 7th Avenue in Altoona.
The driver reported that he believed Figueroa had a knife during the robbery.
After he was arrested, police say officers discovered that Figueroa was in possession of a black shard of metal that could have been displayed as a knife.
Mountains turn blue as Coors Light semi overturns, scattering cans across interstate
TRUCKEE, Calif. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The mountains win again and they are in fact blue.
A semi-truck carrying cases of Coors Light beer overturned on I-80 in Placer County early Monday morning, scattering silver cans across the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
All westbound traffic was rerouted was temporarily rerouted onto Rainbow Road but one lane of traffic has since reopened.
CHP said a driver and passenger were in the truck when it overturned and both suffered minor injuries.
Pittsburgh-area man fondled sleeping woman on flight
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A Pittsburgh-area man has been charged with fondling a sleeping woman who sat next to him on a flight from Las Vegas.
Fifty-eight-year-old Wei-Ming Shi, of Mount Lebanon, is charged with one count of unlawful sexual contact on an aircraft during flight.
An FBI criminal complaint says Shi was returning from Las Vegas on a Southwest Airlines flight on Thursday when he put his hands under the sleeping woman's dress and on her thigh and buttocks.
State trooper who arrested LGBTQ+ leaders in Philadelphia no longer works for state police
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The state trooper who arrested two LGBTQ+ leaders after a contentious traffic stop in Philadelphia is no longer employed by the Pennsylvania state police, officials said Friday.
Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Adam Reed said the trooper, who has not been named, no longer works for the agency, though it's unclear whether he was fired and when he left the job.

Bellefonte Borough Purchases Land Next to Talleyrand Park
BELLEFONTE/CENTRE COUNTY, Pa — The borough has been set on making some improvements to downtown Bellefonte. This small property has the potential to make a big impact on that.
This Subway restaurant closed last year as a result of the COVID crisis. The land is right next to the neighboring Big Spring Run and Talleyrand Park.
Without a tenant stepping up to buy, the landowner approached the borough to try and broker a deal.
