Half a million gallons of sewage spill into Michigan's St. Joseph River
THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WWMT) — A no contact advisory has been issued Monday for all contact with the St. Joseph River between Three Rivers and Constantine, according to the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.
The tri-county health department said a force main break caused untreated sewage to start spilling from the Three Rivers Wastewater Treatment Plant starting around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
The 500,000 gallon spill happened near Three Rivers and started moving downstream towards Constantine, the health agency said.
Somerset man grew marijuana in cornfield, distilled moonshine, police say
ROCKWOOD, Pa. — A Somerset County man is facing criminal charges after police say they searched his farm and found 55 marijuana plants tucked away in a cornfield along with two moonshine stills and 144 sealed mason jars of possible moonshine, according to a police affidavit.
According to police, troopers received an anonymous tip that James Enos was growing a large amount of marijuana on Gebhart Rd. in Rockwood. State police flew an aviation unit over the farm on Aug.
Wounded Scranton Detective released from hospital

THORNDALE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a man was shot and wounded by a suburban Philadelphia police officer after ramming a police vehicle during a chase and threatening to shoot officers, although he turned out to be unarmed.
The Chester County district attorney’s office said police were told of a stolen vehicle in a convenience store parking lot in Downingtown shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday. Prosecutors said the person who had been driving it stole another car from the lot and fled into a residential neighborhood.
