Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Homelessness in many Pennsylvania cities has been a growing issue, with the problem being exacerbated during the pandemic.
In Altoona, one man’s encounter with a homeless man just before he lost his battle to drug addiction changed his lifeto the point that he makes it his mission to help others in that position, in a movement named after his fallen friend.
After Josh Roland lost his friend Ben in 2019, he started 'BEN Blessed' in his honor, to help other homeless people in Altoonajust like him.
AT&T probes sudden outage as cybersecurity concerns rise
WASHINGTON (TND) — AT&T customers were left experiencing outages Thursday morning prompting an investigation into a possible cyberattack.
Sourcestold ABC News that the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are now urgently investigating to determine whether or not the outages were a result of a cyberattack or hack.

Teen killed in Bigler Township crash that injured 2 others
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Troopers say a teenager was killed in a Clearfield County crash Tuesday that injured two others.
According to state police, the crash happened on State Route 53 south of Brewery Road in Bigler Township around 8 a.m.
Troopers say a 17-year-old was driving southbound on SR 53 when his vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and collided with another vehicle head-on causing disabling damage.
According to state police, the other vehicle’s driver and passenger were injured and taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment.
12 injured in apartment floor collapse near IUP
INDIANA, Pa. (AP) — A dozen people were injured in the collapse of a second-story floor inside an apartment complex near a western Pennsylvania over the weekend, authorities said.
Seven people were taken to hospitals and five others were treated at the scene after the 11:50 p.m. Saturday collapse at Elm by Traverse Commons about a mile (1.6 kilometers) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, state police told the Tribune-Review.
Trooper Cliff Greenfield said the victims had injuries ranging from serious to minor.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a local journalist is facing charges after he reportedly engaged in sexually explicit communications with whom he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

They said Matthew Cherry, 46, was last seen Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the area of Kylertown Drifting Highway in Cooper Township.

Pirates team president tests positive for COVID-19
Pittsburgh, Pa (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Thursday that team president, Travis Williams, has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a news release on the team's website, Williams began displaying symptoms on Monday and is now “on the road to recovery.” “Fortunately," Williams said, "I followed the critical health and safety protocols that we have put in place, including wearing a mask as required, maintaining safe social distance and, upon the onset of symptoms, immediately isolating myself and getting tested, which has prevented further impact to others.
Fire crews battle late-night fire in Alum Bank
ALUM BANK, Pa. (WJAC) — According to Bedford County Dispatch, fire crews battled a house fire late Thursday night in Alum Bank.
Dispatchers said they received a call for a fire on the 300 block of Wayne Boulevard, just after 10 p.m.
Dispatchers told 6 News the residents were home at the time, however no injuries were reported.
A fire marshal was called to the scene.
