Johnstown school raising money to build special needs playground
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — A school in Cambria County is raising money to build a special needs playground for the community to use.
Officials at Pressley Ridge Day School Johnstown say there's no other playground to meet the needs of many kids in the area and they want to change that.
It’s going to be custom built on the grounds of the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center.
Because of its special features, it could cost $200,000.
Man killed in construction zone crash that closed Mifflin Co. roadway
2nd UPDATE |Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — State police say a 57-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a construction zone crash along Route 522 in Mifflin County.
Troopers identified the victim as Dwayne Grove.
Police say a 54-year-old man was also injured in the crash.
The incident closed a stretch of Route 522, from the Mifflin County/Huntingdon County line to Jacks Mountain Road, for several hours.
Troopers say no further details are being released at this time and PSP Lewistown is continuing to investigate the crash.
New details released by police in pre-planned suicides of York County family

According to a written document left behind by Deborah Daub she speaks of a joint decision by she and Morgan to end their lives. She also speaks about the evil that has mounted against Morgan and the family but does not detail to what she is referring.
Parole denied again for 'Son of Sam,' notorious 70s serial killer, at age 70
(TND) — Notorious serial killer David Berkowitz had his parole denied for a 12th time since being incarnated on May 8, 1978. Berkowitz, 70, received the rejection after a Board of Parole prison interview on May 14, according to information listed on a state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.
A series of deadly shootings in the 70s put New Yorkers on edge, as Berkowitz targeted young women and couples sitting in cars.
PSU staff member charged with DUI after nearly colliding with police cruiser
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a Penn State University staff member is facing DUI-related charges after she nearly crashed into a Spring Township police cruiser in December.
According to the affidavit, police say 41-year-old Annahelen Barone was reportedly driving erratically along South Water Street, on the night of Dec. 29th.
Police say an on-duty Spring Township police officer witnessed Barone's black Subaru continually crossing into the opposite lane of travel before she nearly collided with his cruiser.
